Construction of the bridge (over Blind Creek) presumably began in January 1859, at the same time as the adjoining Jackson’s
Creek bridge, after the opening celebrations of the line to Sunbury.

A March 1859 report on the railway noted that ‘the long continued strike of the masons has at length terminated,
and about 40 men are employed at the quarries near the Bald Hill, preparing the facings for the bridge over the Blind Creek
in that vicinity’. Moloney, BJ/01-2
