Horses carried free. Up until the Second World War thousands of punters used flock to the races at Rupert Clarke's Kismet Park.

Sunbury Races, 16th October 1910

[Victorian Railways, Transportation Branch, 24.11.1910]

Horse train to Sunbury and three to Rupertswood platform. On return journey with exception of a few, all passengers return from Rupertswood and as horse train had 6 or more cars the three specials were somewhat overcrowded. 1st class room was about right but 2nd class insufficient. Horse train had 57 horses on board also a second engine. Specials should have compartment vans Zs and Cs should not be used.

Rupertswood platform as previously reported is too short and as these Meetings are regular, I consider steps should be taken to extend platform at Down end sufficient to hold engine and 12 cars, also trains increased to 12 cars. The level crossing at Up end is at end of platform ramp, train has therefore to stand clear.
